Botanicals
Well what can I say? I love plants so much. I feel they speak to me, they are part of me. Being surrounded by plants and in touch with nature has always been essential to my wellbeing from as far back as I can remember. Some of my happiest childhood memories are digging for potatoes, picking windfall apples and delighting in seeing seeds that i planted sprouting on my windowsill. Being surrounded by plants is proven to improve mood and general mental health, it shouldn’t come as a surprise! My house plants have moved with me across cities and to new countries, they are part of my family. I’m currently interested in finding more about where these common houseplants we take for granted come from originally. These plants tell the story of combination and appropriation of other lands and cultures. I hope to explore these histories more in the coming months/years.
